ambientStudio has been hired to appraise the third oldest botanical garden of the world. The famous Giardino dei Semplici of Firenze dates back to December 1, 1545. Values of historical collections, herbarium, trees and, of course, buildings, various materials and land, has been provided with an official report testified before the Civil Court of Firenze. After months of extensive studies that required analyses of similar economical and scientific works (quite rare) we contacted the most important Institutions all over the world. A fine example of environmental appraisals, our final report served the University of Firenze, Dr. Rossi’s Alma Mater, to demonstrate the values, not merely monetary, of scientific collections in a modern economics way. ambientStudio ha effettuato la perizia ufficiale giurata per una stima ambientale di grandissimo interesse: i valori del famoso Giardino dei Semplici di Firenze. Il giardino botanico è stato istituito il 1 dicembre del 1545 ed è il terzo al mondo per antichità. I valori delle collezioni botaniche, degli erbari, degli alberi, (e ovviamente di tutti i materiali, compresi edifici e resedi), sono stati stimati dopo mesi di analisi ed indagini, anche con ricerche, contatti e visite ad altre Istituzioni al mondo, appositamente interpellate. Lavori simili, (rarissimi), sono stati studiati allo scopo di comprovare la complessa serie di valori, non meramente monetari, che le collezioni scientifiche rivestono nelle economie delle società moderne.
